Google New Camera App for Nexus Smartphones: What’s New in it
Coming to the features part then new camera app comes with a new modified UI that has more options (buttons basically) on top right corner of the UI. HDR and flash modes are there as usual and no changes are made to them. However you will see 2 new buttons added besides them. One is for grid lines and the second is for selecting various camera modes in one go (it is quite similar to standard camera interface of any regular iPhone, where users can select from a pool of shooting modes like cloudy, sunny, tungsten etc).
As per official reports, this new camera app update has modified the existing interface in terms of average speed and camera/video shutter transformation speed. It means with new update, users will be able to open camera quickly and will be able to switch between camera and video modes in no time.
Nexus 6, 5X and 6P has been blessed with auto HDR+ mode that enables the user to shoot awesome shots in low-light and backlit situations. With this new mode, now Nexus users on these 3 devices will be able to click pictures in 3 different HDR modes (HDR Off, HDR On, HDR + Auto). All these modes can be activate/de-activated with single tap on the HDR toggle button available on the main camera UI.
No official confirmation about when this new update will be rolled out for remaining Nexus devices is available yet. We will update you as soon as we have some confirmation regarding same. Till then please download the latest Google Camera app on your Nexus smartphone (if you are using any of the mentioned Nexus smartphone) and let us know your experience with new UI, improved camera performance, new HDR mode etc.
